Theo and Emma, a second-year MCRP student at UBC, attended the Building Resilient Communities Conference in Penticton BC with our community partners from the City of Vancouver’s Emergency Management Agency (VEMA). We presented the results of our research with VEMA on understanding emergency preparedness among Vancouver residents.

In addition, Emma has been awarded a MITACS grant to work with VEMA to develop a self-evaluation and prioritization tool for improving the accessibility of emergency preparedness and response communications to diverse audiences.
